In December 2019 she won in one of the most coveted categories at the German Songwriting Awards - the POP category - and now newcomer Frances K is sending her winning song 'Ready to Love' out into the world. Deezer even placed her song on the German 'Freitag Alles Neu' list! It's a positive pop anthem for anyone who is in love or wants to fall in love and let's the Singer-Songwriter show off her powerful voice 'Kelly Clarkson-style'.
Please get to know a little more about Frances K in her own words, since we are sure there's a lot more to come from this talented young lady:
My First steps:
Music has always been a big part of my life, since I grew up in a musician family. My family always stood behind my decision to choose music as a career and I could not be more thankful for that. I started writing songs when I was 15, which was also the time I had my first band and started singing in my school BigBand.
My inspiration:
I used to be afraid of showing real emotions in my songs, but then I discovered, that my best songs came out of real, very deep emotions. That’s when I started to realize, how amazing it is to be able to put those emotions into songs and write direct, honest lyrics. So now all my songs are based on real experiences.
Why I chose to write and sing in English:
When I was younger I used to sing along with every song I heard, without even knowing what I was singing and I guess that’s when I fell in love with the English language. I love how melodic it sounds and I always loved that english pop music makes you able to express your emotions in a very direct and simple way that everyone can identify with.
Why I chose to join in the GSA competition:
I wanted to find a way to connect with other songwriters and producers and I really loved the idea of an award for unknown songwriters. I love the whole concept of combining the award with the Songscon and Songweek, because it’s a great opportunity to meet other people in the business. And of course the prizes are amazing.
My plans:
I’m currently working on new songs and I’m planning to release new music this year and grow my audience. I’m incredibly thankful for every single person supporting my music and it’s still weird to see people listening to my music all over the world. I also want to start playing live more. I went through a lot of changes last year, but I am happy to have amazing bandmates by my side now and I’m really looking forward to this new chapter.
